Frugal Grocery Shopping

There are a few good rules to have when grocery shopping and I will share mine with you. I NEVER pay more than $2.00 per pound of meat. When chicken tenders go on sale for $1.78 at Ingles, I stock up. If your store is running ground chuck on sale for $1.78, stock up. I NEVER pay more than a $1.00 per pound on fruits and veggies. On dairy products, I wait until a sale and stock up. Cheese can be frozen and used in casseroles and other baked recipes. Milk, well good luck on that one. I try to buy milk when I am at Walmart. Remember to take your local grocery sale flyer with you to Walmart because Walmart matches prices. But it does have to be the same exact product. Walmart does not honor Buy one get on free sales, though. Sorry. Don't forget to sit down and do a menu. You don't have to stick to it strictly, you will know what you are having and will not have to stop at the store for an ingredient that you don't have. Remember, these are my rules, you are welcomed to use mine, but most importantly, do what works for you and your budget. Please feel free to leave comments as to how you save money.

Coupons

Coupons.com, smartsource.com, redplum.com are websites that you can print coupons. Make sure that you register for them so that you receive them all in your inbox. Registering only takes a few minutes and you receive them periodically. Today, Ingles was tripling coupons. I had printed off the Tetley tea coupons off of coupons.com for .50 and Ingles tripled, making the tea .48. The regular price for the tea was 1.98 for a 24 ct. Print only the coupons that you will use, or else you end up wasting you printer cartridge.

On the side of my blog you will see the Swagbucks Widget. If you are not signed up, you may click on sign up to get started. You collect points for searches and you can earn prizes. You can download the seach bar, you can click on the widget on my page to look for codes and also they have a few other ways to earn the points.

Welcome

Hello all and thank you for visiting my blog. This is an attempt to show my friends and family how to save money. I am a frugal person. I only buy on sale or with coupons. I do shop at thrift stores and I like to stretch a dollar as far as it will go. I will be featuring stores that are in my area and showing you how to get the most for your money. The first tip that I have for you is PICK UP PENNIES and other change that you find laying on the ground. Why? Because it is money, but most importantly it says, "In God we trust". So if you trust God in the small (picking up pennies) He can trust you in the bigger things in life.
