Frugal Grocery Shopping
There are a few good rules to have when grocery shopping and I will share mine with you. I NEVER pay more than $2.00 per pound of meat. When chicken tenders go on sale for $1.78 at Ingles, I stock up. If your store is running ground chuck on sale for $1.78, stock up. I NEVER pay more than a $1.00 per pound on fruits and veggies. On dairy products, I wait until a sale and stock up. Cheese can be frozen and used in casseroles and other baked recipes. Milk, well good luck on that one. I try to buy milk when I am at Walmart. Remember to take your local grocery sale flyer with you to Walmart because Walmart matches prices. But it does have to be the same exact product. Walmart does not honor Buy one get on free sales, though. Sorry. Don't forget to sit down and do a menu. You don't have to stick to it strictly, you will know what you are having and will not have to stop at the store for an ingredient that you don't have. Remember, these are my rules, you are welcomed to use mine, but most importantly, do what works for you and your budget. Please feel free to leave comments as to how you save money.
